Eugenio Zoppis is a project manager, contracts expert and civil engineer with 40 years of on-site experience in construction and contracts management for large international projects.

Eugenio Zoppis, MCIArb, MCInstCES, F.IHA, GMICE, MAPM, is a project manager and contracts expert.

He is a civil engineer, having qualified in Italy, and holds a master's degree in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution awarded by King's College London.

Eugenio is an Italian citizen, resident in Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia. He has 40 years of on-site experience in construction and contracts management for large international projects.

As a contractor, he has built large dams totalling 20 million m3 of RCC, concrete or rock fill, tunnels and shafts over 50 km, roads over 1,200 km, bridges, industrial buildings and two airfields.

Among them, he has built the tallest Reinforced Concrete Cement dam in the world, 246m high, and one of the longest deep tunnels without intermediate adits, 26 km long.

Eugenio has robust experience in contracts and disputes management. He personally dealt with claims and counterclaims for his construction projects, managing them up to conclusion either through amicable settlement, Dispute Avoidance Boards or arbitration.

He has been a FIDIC Certified Adjudicator since 2022.

At present, Eugenio is Project Director on a construction project in Saudi Arabia involving dams, reinforced concrete structures, tunnels and roads.

In two years from commencement, the mobilisation of the camp, accommodating 6,000 people, and the industrial plant were completed, together with two large dams, comprising 5 million m3 of rockfill and 1.5 million m3 of RCC, and 2,200m of viaducts.

He is also a PhD candidate at King's College London. He collaborates with FIDIC and was a reviewer of the Conditions of Contract for Underground Works, Emerald Book 2019, and the Conditions of Subcontract under the Yellow Book.

He is the Team Leader for the Conditions of Subcontract under the Silver Book.

Examples of recent projects where Eugenio was Project Manager include the Koysha Hydroelectric Project, 1,800MW, and the Gibe III Hydroelectric Project, 1,870MW, both in Ethiopia.
